Tennis Center Paguera is located in the southwest of the island, a few minutes walk from the beach and only 20 minutes away from the Palma airport. Boris Becker, Charly Steeb, Tommy Haas and Steffi Graf are just a few of the professional players who have trained in this scenic setting between the sea and mountains. Adult tennis program is by far the best I have attended! Ali, Juan, and Jeff. Thank you all for taking the time to work on and correct the technique of each individual member, which is tough to do in the group setting, they managed to adhere to all members with care and due delligence and make it feel personal! While the group training was entertaining it also provided an intense focus on tennis drills, footwork, and a bit of match play strategy.

This Balearic Island has a mix of colonial and local architecture. The festes take place throughout the summer in different towns around the island, and have their origins in the early 14th century. Minorca’s cuisine is dominated by the Mediterranean diet which is known to be very healthy. While many of the locals have adopted modern attitudes they still uphold certain old traditions. The festes last for three days. On the first day, a man bears a well-groomed sheep upon his shoulders and parades around the local streets.

The village of Andratx conserves its three traditional neighbourhoods, dotted with white houses huddled around the 18th—century church of Santa Maria. Sant Elm, affording the best views of Sa Dragonera, is a tourist centre with a family atmosphere. On the highest point stand the church of Sant Joan, the rectory and an observation deck with good panoramic views.
Around the church cobbled streets, often labyrinthine, start out in an urban network which ends up at the sea at Cala Estellencs. For centuries the terraces have made this piece of coastline singular, delimited by dry stone walls where olive trees, vines and vegetable gardens are planted, watered by a complex system of channels and canals inherited from the Arabs. The oldest houses are set around the church of Sant Joan Baptista, the belltower of which was once a defence tower against attacks by pirates.

This portal, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, dates from the first third of the 17th century. Its restoration was entrusted to the architect Juan Bautista Peyronnet of Madrid who chose not to construct the doors to the aisles and also blocked off the two upper rose windows. He also planned a neo-Gothic style pediment and two new buttresses. However, eventually only the central door was constructed and the spaces inside corresponding to the aisles were turned into chapels.
The baptistery is located in the right-hand aisle. This chapel, planned by the architect Brother Miquel de Petra, a Capuchin monk, was built between and and stands out because of its style which is very different from the structural Gothic or the decorative Baroque.

The Bellevue Club is situated in the popular resort town of Alcudia, on the sunny Spanish island of Majorca. Located right by a beautiful lake, and just a short walk or boat ride to Alcudia beach, the Bellevue Club has a fantastic range of facilities, making it the ideal setting for families, couples, and groups of friends seeking a relaxing holiday in the sun.
The hugely popular resort of Palma Nova and its nearest neighbour Magaluf, are the largest resort developments of the municipal district of Calvia, and is situated on the south west coast of the island, approximately 15km or 10 miles west of Palma, and the Son Sant Joan International airport. Making the resort transfer is for most visitors fairly painless, once you have collected your luggage and cleared customs that it, and should normally take between 20 to 30 minutes, however this can and often does vary, depending upon the time of day and the sheer volume of traffic on the Palma motorways.
Having said that, for those visitors who choose to pay the additional cost for a tour operators coach transfer, although after 20 minutes you will certainly be “somewhere” in either Palma Nova or Magaluf, the final transfer time may be somewhere in the region of 45 minutes before you actually arrive at your chosen accommodation all depending on the route taken by the driver on the day. For most people visiting Palma Nova for the first time, this unscheduled tour of the resort isn’t really an issue, as it gives them an early opportunity to get their bearings, along with a general feeling as to what the area has to offer visitors.
If however, you have visited Majorca before, and feel that after already spending the last 4 hours or so either sitting in an airport departure lounge, or cramped Boeing , you now wish to take the most direct route to your chosen accommodation, there is always a multitude of taxis waiting outside of the arrivals hall. Although these taxis do all operate on a fixed price basis, this “fixed price” can, and often does, vary slightly depending upon the number of suitcases, the time of day or night of the journey, and of course the number of passengers carried, however, as a very general guide the short journey to Palma Nova should normally cost somewhere in the region of 35 euro to 40 euro.
An important consideration for families with small children, is that these taxis do not as a rule carry child seats, therefore children may have to sit on their parent’s knee for the journey. If this is a cause for concern, we strongly recommend that you make arrangements for a pre-booked taxi to be waiting for you, and clearly specify at the time of booking that a child seat is needed for the journey.
The journey, for those who have chosen to drive, is however also fairly straightforward for the most part, although a slight complication certainly worth mentioning is that in recent years the local Government on the island has re-numbered most of the roads on Mallorca, so please make sure that you have an up to date map before setting out!
Athough from here the Avenida de Platja takes you into the centre of the resort, this for most people, is where the problems begin, as the resort is quite large and unforgiving for an inexperienced driver. As with the other resorts on the island, a more detailed version of this route, complete with links to maps where appropriate, is available from the Route Map link on the left hand frame of this page.
In theory Palma Nova is also one of the few resorts where it is possible to make the transfer by public transport, although personally I’d never relish the thought of getting on a bus on the island with my suitcase and flight bag, and then trying to find the right change. Once you’ve arrived in the resort, and settled into your accommodation, making the return trip into Palma for either shopping or sightseeing is fairly easy by public transport.
One word of advice though, these buses can become very crowded, and have in the past been known to attract pickpockets.
